Premiere Pro, Through OBS ​

Premiere hands its picture to OBS Studio on the same computer over NDI, and OBS sends it to Pixelview. This is the most stable way to stream from Premiere without a capture device, and takes about 15 minutes to set up once.

If Premiere feeds a monitor through a Blackmagic or AJA device, Pixelview Desktop with a capture device gives better quality. See Choose How to Stream.

1. Install the software ​

  1. Install OBS Studio.
  2. Close OBS, then install the NDI plugin for OBS (DistroAV) for your operating system.
  3. Install NDI Tools. This adds NDI output to Premiere.

2. Send Premiere's output to NDI ​

In Premiere, open Settings → Playback and select NDI for both video and audio.

3. Receive it in OBS ​

Under Sources, click +, choose NDI Source, and select Premiere Pro as the source name.

4. Hear your audio ​

Premiere now sends its audio to OBS, so turn on monitoring to hear it.

Right-click the NDI audio meter in OBS, choose Advanced Audio Properties, and set Audio Monitoring to Monitor and Output.

5. Stream to Pixelview ​

  1. Follow Connect OBS to Pixelview to paste the Server and Bearer Token from Admin.
  2. Use the recommended quality values in OBS Studio Setup.
  3. Click Start Streaming and check the thumbnail in Admin.
  4. Open the viewer link to check picture and sound, then invite your viewers. See Watch in a Web Browser.
