Your First Session
Pixelview sends the picture and sound from your edit, grade, or VFX suite to clients, who watch in their browser with no account or app. Plan about 30 minutes for the first session and a couple of minutes after that.

1. Create your account
Start a free trial. You land in Pixelview Admin, where you run your sessions.
Admin shows an encoder: one review room, with one stream going in and your viewers watching it. Most accounts start with one.
2. Choose how to get your picture into Pixelview
You do this once per room. For most rooms it means a small app on a computer that captures your video output and sends it.
Not sure which to choose?
On a Mac or Windows PC with a Blackmagic capture device, use Pixelview Desktop. It needs the least setup.
Otherwise, go to Choose How to Stream and pick by what you have in your room.
3. Create a project
A project is one review session: a title, a password, and an expiry date.
- In Admin, click New in the Projects section.
- Enter a title and a password.
- Choose Activate Now, then click Create.
See Create Project.
4. Start your stream and check it
- Start streaming from your app or encoder.
- In Admin, wait for the thumbnail to show your picture.
- Open the viewer link yourself and check picture and sound before you invite anyone.
5. Invite your clients
Copy the viewer link from Admin and send it. Clients click it and type their name to start watching.
For sensitive material, send private email invites instead of a shared link and turn on the watermark. See Session Access and Invites and Security Best Practices. During the session you can use video chat, text chat, and drawing on the picture: see Collaboration Tools.
When you are done, stop your stream and pause or expire the project.
