Access the Encoder

Learn how to access and configure your Magewell encoder for streaming to Pixelview.

When to Access Your Encoder

You normally don't need to login to your encoder for regular streaming - it's already pre-configured. However, you might need to access it if you want to:

  • Connect the encoder to your WiFi network
  • Change color settings (e.g., from limited to full color range)
  • Adjust other advanced settings

Initial Setup​

You can login to your encoder on your local network using either the IP address or the built in Wifi access point.

With IP address​

  • Locate the encoders IP address on your network by checking your routers DHCP list. Then open it in your web browser. 192.168.1.207 for example.

  • Login with the username Admin and the same password written on the backside of the box.

With wifi​

  • Use your laptop to connect to a wifi named something similar to "A304210101001".

  • Password is the last eight digits in the name, so with the example above that's 10101001.

  • When connected, open a browser and go to 192.168.48.1

  • There login with username admin and the password written on the back side of the box.
