Create a Project

A project is one client review session on an encoder: its title, password, viewer links, invites, pause state, watermark settings, and active status. Use a new project for each client, version, or sensitive review so you can manage access cleanly.

Create a new project

1. Sign in to Pixelview Admin and select the encoder (room).
2. Click New in the Projects section.
3. Enter a descriptive Title. It is shown in Admin and to viewers.
4. Enter a Password, or click the refresh button to generate one. Use a unique password per client.
5. Optional: turn on Set expiration time to limit access to a time window.
6. Choose Activate Now to make this the live project.
7. Click Create.

The project opens on the Sessions page with its watch link, Session ID, Password, security settings, and viewer list. Once your stream is running, the thumbnail and stream details appear under Source.

A project can also have a short description, which gives viewers context and is shown in saved app projects.

Active, inactive, and paused

An encoder can hold several saved projects, but only one should be active for the live stream.

State	What it means
Active	Receives the current stream and viewer access.
Inactive	Saved for later. Activate it when needed.
Paused	Stays available, but viewers see the pause screen. See Branding and Pause Screen.

Invite viewers

1. Open the active project.
2. In the Viewers section, enter one or more email addresses in Enter Address to Invite.
3. Click Invite.

Frequently used addresses are saved in the address book. Admin also gives you a link with or without the password, the password on its own, a QR code, Stream ID and password for the apps, and client instructions. See Session Access and Invites for which to use.

Project actions

Action	What it does
Activate	Makes an inactive project the live project.
Pause / resume	Shows or hides the pause screen for viewers. Pause before breaks or internal discussion.
Setup Instructions	Shows stream settings for OBS, editing software, or a hardware encoder.
Pixelview Desktop (under Source)	Pairs a Mac or Windows PC running Pixelview Desktop with this encoder, and starts or stops its stream.
Copy links	Copies client access links.
Kick / revoke	Removes a viewer's access during or after the review.
Delete / archive	Ends access when the project is finished. Expiring a project also ends access.
